October 23, 2021 - Short Track Nationals bring Crawley to I-30 Speedway
|
After Mother Nature nixed the first attempt, Tim Crawley traveled to I-30 Speedway (Little Rock, Ark.) on Friday afternoon to kick off the 34th annual COMP Cams Short Track Nationals presented by Hoosier Tires. Drawing a stout field of 63 Lucas Oil ASCS entries for a pair of preliminary features, Crawley clocked in fourth-fastest in his group before picking up an eight-lap heat race win. Rolling off fourth for his 20-lap prelim, Tim ran into power steering issues that resulted in an early exit.
After starting his night off with a heat race victory on Saturday, Tim secured his spot into the $10,041-to-win Short Track Nationals with a consolation victory. He was an early retiree from the 41-lap finale after setting a record for most Short Track Nationals features made at 24.
