May 29th, 2017 - Crawley Surges to First Win of the Season at Jackson Motor Speedway |
After five consecutive rainouts, Tim Crawley returned to action on Friday night at Hattiesburg Speedway (Hattiesburg, Mississippi) kicking off the United Sprint Car Series (USCS) Sprint Speedweek. Passing four cars in his heat race, Crawley recorded a 4th place finish earning him the 6th-starting spot for the feature. Breaking into a podium spot, Tim improved five more positions to place 2nd behind Marshall Skinner with Robbie Stillwaggon, Cody Howard, and Terry Gray completing the Top 5 finishers.
Saturday night brought Crawley to Jackson Motor Speedway (Byram, Mississippi) for the second round of the USCS Sprint Speedweek. Improving four positions in the Brown and Miller Racing Solutions heat, Crawley notched a 2nd place finish behind Jordon Mallett locking him onto the front row for the 6-lap dash. After dominating the dash, Crawley jumped into the lead early in the 30-lap feature en route to his first victory of the season over Derek Hagar, Gary Taylor, Jordon Mallett, and Dale Howard. The following night after starting the night off with heat race win at Greenville Speedway (Greenville, Mississippi), Mother Nature moved in shortly after ending the night immediately.
Returning to action on Monday night, Crawley was one of 21 cars signed in at Clayhill Speedway (Atwood, Tennessee) wrapping up the opening weekend of the USCS Sprint Speedweek. Leading the night off with the Engler Machine and Tool heat race win, Crawley earned the 6th-starting position for the feature after the redraw. Moving up four positions in the 30-lap affair, Tim Crawley reeled in a 2nd place finish behind Derek Hagar with Brad Bowden, Marshall Skinner, and Morgan Turpen rounding out the Top 5. Tim was awarded the Wilwood Disc Brakes Hard Charger Award for his performance in the feature.
