Tim Crawley made the trip to Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Missouri) over the weekend for a doubleheader with not only the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series, but also the WAR Sprint Cars in an event that paid tribute to Jesse Hockett and Daniel McMillin.
Action opened on Friday night with 52 Lucas Oil ASCS competitors in the pit area, and via preliminary action Crawley raced into the 14th starting spot for the feature in the #88 Mike Ward Racing/GF 1 Chassis, and he would go on to advance to a 9th place finish at the checkered flag. Full results from the event are available at www.ASCSRacing.com.
In WAR Sprint Car action on Friday night Tim piloted the wingless, Hockett Motorsports #75 entry against a field of 34 entries. After finishing 3rd in his heat race he started 9th in the main event, and would mount a great charge to a 3rd place finish behind race winner, Dustin Morgan, and Casey Shuman.
Saturday's program would be delayed until Sunday by rain, and when action resumed Crawley again went into battle against a field of 47 Lucas Oil ASCS Sprinters. An 8th to 3rd run in his heat race locked Tim into the 9th starting spot for the feature, but unfortunately mechanical issues relegated him to a 21st place finish.
The WAR Sprint Car class saw 27 entries on hand, and after winning his heat race Crawley started 7th in the main event before advancing to a 5th place finish behind race winner, Dustin Morgan, Derek Hagar, Casey Shuman, and Austin Alumbaugh. |
